I learned three important things in college - to use a library, to memorize quickly and visually, and to drop asleep at any time given a horizontal surface and fifteen minutes. ~Agnes DeMille, Dance to the Piper, 1952
The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.
You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind. ~Author Unknown
My fall semester is officially completed! :) It was the busiest semester, thus far, of my college career, but by far the best! All my classes had something to do with social work, so I loved every minute of them. It is difficult to believe that I'm done with everything academic-related until January 5th! Now I get to read the books I have been saving for the day when free time would reappear! I'm in the process of finishing The Power of Kindness and A Friend Like Henry. After I finish them, I will begin The Airmen and the Headhunters. I love college, but it has a tendency to get in the way of all the books I want to read. :)
The love of learning, the sequestered nooks, And all the sweet serenity of books.~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
A house without books is like a room without windows. ~Heinrich Mann
To read a book for the first time is to make an acquaintance with a new friend; to read it for a second time is to meet an old one. ~Chinese Saying
Books are delightful society. If you go into a room and find it full of books - even without taking them from the shelves they seem to speak to you, to bid you welcome. ~William Ewart Gladstone
