O, Canada!

~Nikki, Dani, & Tyler~
We drove to Fernie, British Columbia one Saturday in August before Dani returned to Michigan. The town was a cute little ski village with lots of shops and restaurants.

Fernie, BC
We found a candy chop that still made chocolate with the original machinery from over a hundred years ago!
This shop had every taffy flavor imaginable!

I'm sure everyone could tell we had been isolated from civilization all summer---I think we all squealed with delight when we spotted the caramel apples. :)

Tyler took the time to stop and smell the flowers. :)
Dani was disappointed to discover that a Canadian restaurant did not serve Canada Dry ginger ale.
Nikki was thrilled to find a quinoa cookbook. She is a fabulous cook and decorator!
Cars! Traffic! People! It was overwhelming. ha! ;)
We ate supper at an Italian restaurant on Main St. I ordered stuffed grape leaves (delicious and reminded me of Romania!) and pasta.
On the drive back to St. Mary, we saw a herd of elk on the Canadian side.
Home Sweet Home
