High Line Trail

~St. Mary entrance to Glacier National Park~
I was so excited to be Shelby's tour guide! :)
~St. Mary Lake and Wild Goose Island~

I'm thankful I was able to show Shelby around one of my favorite national parks.
We hiked part of the Highline Trail first. Shelby was overwhelmed with the amazing mountain views and fell in love with Glacier, just as I had expected. :)

I was up ahead on the trail when I heard Shelby holler that she had found an animal. I commented that it was probably a ground squirrel and didn't bother to turn around and look. When we returned home at the end of our roadtrip, we looked closer at the picture she had taken and realized it was a weasel, ferret looking animal! Shelby was thrilled and added weasel to our logbook of wild animals.

Logan Pass--The Going-to-the-Sun Road had closed a few days prior to our hike, so the mountain pass was completely silent thanks to the absence of cars. It was peaceful and perfect.
~Sisters~
Always happy to be in the mountains! :)
~My final hike at Logan Pass~
Shelby and the bear spray--I trained her well in all wilderness/bear attack survival methods prior to the hike. :)

There are no words to describe the vast, untamed beauty.

The end of a very happy, very adventurous summer.

This lovely little flower was still happily blooming in late September.
I didn't show Shelby the imprint of a grizzly bear paw until after our hike. There's no sense in ruining a person's first hike in Glacier with the knowledge of how large the paw is on an animal that could maim or kill you with one swipe. :)
