Yellowstone--Day 2

September 24th, 2012

Home Sweet Home
We built a campfire the second night and stayed up late talking about life.

Our 'Scare the bears' expressions :)
On our first night in Yellowstone, I informed Shelby of all the bear attack stories I knew. I figured she needed to know that grizzlies occasionally wandered into camps and ripped through tent walls to maul the people inside. Needless to say, we slept with the can of bear spray.

It was a good thing a bear didn't come close. I would have received a faceful of bear spray. "Thanks for saving me from the savage claws of the grizzly, dear sister. Now I will just go let my lungs collapse."

We ate breakfast at this delightful bakery on our second day in Yellowstone.
We split this cinnamon roll. The picture does not do it justice. It was gooey, doughy, cinnamony perfection. :)

We also ate a breakfast croissant. Reason #162 why I love hiking and camping--you work up an appetite climbing the hills and mountains which means you have to eat hearty to get plenty of energy. :)

The bison to the left would run in circles, flop over in the dust, and roll around. It was snorting and leaping in the air. It seemed so happy to be alive and enjoying the chilly morning.
We stopped at this waterfall on the way to the Grand Tetons.
