A European Bakery & Ice Skates

December 31st, 2012
New Year's Eve began with breakfast at a European bakery.
Jennalyn enjoyed the almond pastry and fruit tart.
After feasting on European pastries, we ice skated for two hours.

Shelby, me, Jennalyn, Nikki, & Elissa--future Olympians. :)

Elissa & Shelby
My classic windmill method of skating. In order to stay upright on the ice, my arms wave around while I try to maintain some semblance of balance. Thankfully, I managed to keep from knocking a child out or running one of them over. I felt so old watching all the little kids skating around, tripping, falling, and picking themselves right back up. I thought to myself, "When did I blink and the nine-year old who used to purposely fall and slide at the skating rink disappear, and a twenty-four-year old afraid of breaking bones take her place?" :)
I have no clue what Shelby was going for in this picture. An interpretive ice dance, perhaps?
Happy, exhausted ice skaters :)
After skating, we ate lunch at an Indian restaurant. The food was delicious. We now want to travel to India.

Hazel fell in love with Nikki and was very happy to see her at the end of the day. :)
