Gifts 116-130

A Holy Experience

-1,000 Gifts, continued-
116. The Solar System--I attempted to learn the constellations as a kid because I thought it would be cool to be able to navigate by the stars. Let's just say, I'm no Galileo. I can identify the Big Dipper, and that's about it. I use a GPS for all my navigational needs. But, I'm still fascinated by the solar system, and a shooting star sends me over the moon--pun intended. :)

117. Green apple-flavored lollipops covered in caramel that I only find in stores during the autumn months.

118. Batlings? Bitty bats? Baby bats? I had to Google the official term for newborn bats. They are called pups. Whatever they are called, I am thankful for them. They are cute, look sort of like a mouse with wings, and eat mosquitoes. If I had a pet bat, I would name it Matilda, or Chester if it was a boy.

119. Integrity
1. The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
2. The state of being whole and undivided: "territorial integrity".
Synonyms
honesty - wholeness

What is listed above is the official dictionary definition. On the front lines of life, it is a rare quality, indeed. I am thankful for the people of integrity I'm blessed to know in my life.

120. Dr. Carey D. Andrew-Jaja sings a song to every baby he helps deliver. Beautiful, just beautiful.

121. A.A. Milne's characters--Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Owl, Rabbit, Eeyore, Kanga, and Roo--I love them all. As a child, I wanted to live in the "100 Aker Wood" described within the pages of Milne's stories.
Who am I kidding? I still want to live there and search for heffalumps and woozles with Pooh and bounce through the forest with Tigger!

122. Finding a video of Dean Martin and Perry Como singing a duet. They are my favorite singers of all time, and due in part to me being their biggest fan, the YouTube video has been viewed
447, 554 times.

123. Chocolate milk

124. Classic black and white movies---It's a Wonderful Life makes me cry every single time.

125. My mom's homemade chicken and dressing and cranberry sauce

126. Finding an 88 cent item that will be a great Christmas present for my sister, and knowing she won't care that it cost less than a dollar

127. Running through the grass in my barefeet

128. Sour cream and buttermilk

129. Catching fireflies on a summer night

130. The first hint of chill in the air to welcome autumn

Please join me in counting! What gifts are you thankful for on this autumn day?

You need to warn me next time about the BATS. They made me gasp and flinch! (But they are rather cute.)
