Happy Grandparents' Day

What is it about grandparents that is so lovely?  I'd like to say that grandparents are God's gifts to children. -Bill Cosby

I was blessed to grow up with my grandparents and two great-grandmothers.
Grandpa Harley, Grannie, and Grandma Wasson are gone now. I am deeply thankful for the time I had with them.
 
Grandparent Memories

 -baking cookies, shelling peas, decorating Christmas trees, and dyeing Easter eggs
-eating ice cream sandwiches
-playing in the sand and splashing in the ocean
-story time
-helping Grandpa Harley feed the cows
-swinging at the Lakeyard
-playing with Grandpa's beagles
-games of Scrabble
-Grandma's homemade fig cake
-playing with Legos at Grandma's feet while she worked on quilts, doll clothes, and dresses in her sewing room
-exploring South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska in the motor home
-feeding the fish in the pond
-picking berries in Grannie's backyard and swinging on the porch
-listening to great-Grandma's stories
-Grandma's oatmeal raisin cookies, rolls, and homemade noodles
-Laughter
-sitting in front of the fireplace
-picking apples
-games of tag in the backyard
-riding bicycles
-the sound of the clocks chiming above the fireplaces in both sets of grandparents' houses
