| Gift 540: Homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie using the Park Cafe recipe. As I stirred the ingredients, my heart remembered the mountains; the St. Mary river; all the friends who became a part of my family; the grizzlies, moose, & elk; eating pie at midnight after a nine-hour shift in the dish pit; the black bear sitting on the ice cream freezer; hiking in the wilderness; whitewater rafting & kayaking; and sleeping outside with the Milky Way for a canopy. Who knew a simple pie could bring back so many memories from the best summer of my life? |
