2 weeks have come and gone, and the final week at the clinic has begun. I will fly out of Bucharest at 5:00 p.m. this Saturday and land in London for a 17 hour layover. If all goes well, I plan to explore the city during the layover. :) I will depart London at 11:40 a.m. Sunday for a 10 hour flight to Dallas. After a 5 hour layover in Texas and a 1 1/2 hour flight, I will arrive in Memphis, TN at 9:40 p.m Sunday.
5 team members (Caroline, Chelsey, Lily, Ginny, & Paul) left yesterday morning to return to the states and continue their travels elsewhere.
Most of the team has battled some sort of sickness during the two weeks. I've had a cold/cough/sore throat thing for a week and a half, but I believe I'm on the mend. Two team members had a terrible stomach virus for 24 hours the first week and a third team member awoke this morning with the virus. :( Sickness comes with the territory, though. Being thrown up on, wiping snotty noses, and getting coughed on more times than I can count by 21 children, I'm surprised I haven't caught the plague. ha ha ;)
Michelle and I plan to spend this afternoon at the clinic. The children are often left in their cribs all weekend. There is usually only one aide and one nurse on duty on Saturday and Sunday.
