~Food~

The food is edible, but plain. Breakfast consists of yogurt and toast (I've eaten more toast this trip than I have in my entire life) with the occasional apple, banana, fried egg, or cereal. Lunch always begins with soup (eating soup in 100 degree weather has been interesting) and is followed with a salad, chicken stew, or pizza. Supper ranges from chicken schnitzel to chicken garlic stew with bread or rice followed by dessert---ice cream, chocolate crepes, Romanian apple pie, or homemade doughnuts with chocolate sauce (my favorite:)
The entire team loves to talk about food and we are planning what we want to eat upon returning to the states. :)
My top choices are:
Mexican food
Homemade ice cream with frozen oreos
Mom's chicken & noodles (really homemade anything by Mom---she is an amazing cook! :)
Salad with fresh greens, cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, strawberries, & blueberries
A Granny Smith apple
A big glass of ice cold milk
Chicken schnitzel & polenta---my favorite Romanian meal.
Chocolate crepes---Yum!
Romanian chicken salad
Chicken & vegetables
Crepes with ice cream
These breadsticks were delicious!
Beef & vegetables
Romanian meatballs & potatoes
As soon as the meatballs arrived, I recognized the smell---the sausage from my first trip to Romania had come back to haunt me, just in the form of meatballs rather than sausage links! ha ha ;) Needless to say, I did not eat them. I ate potatoes and a granola bar instead. :)
