The Law of Moving: Everything that could possibly go wrong, will...and then some. :)

Mom & I drove to the town to which I would be moving on July 1oth to get a few things done around the rental house. My van broke down in the parking lot of the real estate office, it was towed to a local mechanic, we walked across town in 100-degree heat, rented a U-Haul just to move the belongings I had packed in the van, cleaned the house, and waited for Dad to arrive to drive us home. My van, meanwhile, sat at the mechanic with a busted fuel pump and leaky transmission seal. A trip that was supposed to be quick turned into an all day and part of the night ordeal. We didn't return home until 1:00 a.m.!

Mom and I took a break for a late lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. The pink lemonade was a much-needed reprieve from the scorching temperatures and frustration of the day. :)

After making it safely home at 1:00 in the morning on Friday, we proceeded to load the U-Haul for my official day of departure (Saturday). By the way, when it is 95 degrees outside, it feels like 120 degrees inside the metal oven, otherwise known as a U-Haul. Note to self: next time, move in December!
Childhood room---empty after 17 years.
Panzer decided that she wanted to move, too! :)
She would make a good mascot for U-Haul. :)
Contemplating the completely empty nest to come on Saturday--yeah right! Dad's deep-in-thought stance is really just exhaustion from moving his last child's entire life's possessions out of the house. :)

My dogs were a bit depressed that I was leaving them again. Little did they know, they would be joining me in a week at our new home! :)
