"I might suggest some points to consider before undertaking such a task; first of all; one must love children and love to have them around all the time, love to train them in the principles of God day and night as you work with them--you can't lock up a child's mind like you would a sugar can and refill it at intervals. You must teach at all times by precept and example. You must not expect them to be any more perfect than you were as a child. You must be willing to acknowledge your mistakes--and you'll make plenty of them!--even to the smallest child and ask him to forgive you. You must teach them to have compassion for, and to share, their own possessions. If you have these virtues, you will succeed. The laughter of the little ones will be medicine to your bones, and will keep you young and fit, and God will supply all your needs."
