The Lakeyard--April 2012

Henry David Thoreau said it best, "An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day." And the blessing is multiplied when the walk is along a quiet, tree-lined street hedged with Victorian homes.

My favorite tree :)

The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.
~Dorothy Frances Gurney

I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day.  ~F. Frankfort Moore

People should take the time to rest and gaze at the sky and trees every now and then.

Two girls met one day. They both had untameable curly hair, a mutual love of books and chocolate, and spirits of adventure. They became best of friends. :)

"You have found a place in my heart,
and so that place is yours.
It will fly your flag,
speak your language,
and honor you with festive parades forever." ~Leigh Standley
