A Camel Called Nacho

December 22nd, 2012
I spent two weeks with Shelby for Christmas and the New Year. On the day I arrived, she treated me to to an evening at the Kentucky Horse Park. We enjoyed the festive Christmas lights and the petting zoo.
We love llamas. :)
Red kangaroos

I want a wallaby.
Shelby and I have always wanted to visit Australia; we could move there and become kangaroo and wallaby ranchers! :)

My favorite animals were the Zebu (miniature cattle from Africa).
The baby camels loved to eat carrot sticks.

Look at the eyelashes on that camel! Camels should model for mascara commercials!

The highlight of the evening was a camel ride. There were two camels named Nacho and Dwight. Riding a camel was on my bucket list. It was so much fun! Shelby joined me. I'm thankful to have a sister who is also easily amused. :)

Shelby and I looked at each other during the camel ride and immediately knew what the other was thinking; how could we ride a camel and not sing our song from childhood about camels? :)
"We are cameling from dune to dune! We are cameling beneath the desert moon! The days are hot, the nights are not. We keep on cameling. Camelot! Camelot!"
