Content with not comparing

Be content with yourself. The best way I have found to be free of anxiety regarding what other people think is to completely stop comparing myself--my life, my talents, my physical appearance, my decisions--to that of others. I was terribly self-conscious as a child/teenager. I'm thankful I learned early on that it was no way to live. Set yourself free. Stop comparing!

“But the toaster was quite satisfied with itself, thank you. Though it knew from magazines that there were toasters who could toast four slices at a time, it didn't think that the master, who lived alone and seemed to have few friends, would have wanted a toaster of such institutional proportions. With toast, it's quality that matters, not quantity.” -Thomas M. Disch, The Brave Little Toaster
