What a difference a year makes! Last 4th of July, a friend and I went hiking in the wilderness of Glacier National Park. Fast forward to July 4th, 2013, and I am celebrating the holiday at my parents' home with a cook-out and fireworks.

| 37 degrees and five feet of snow at the Pass, 85 degrees and sunny on the west side--We began what we thought was a two-mile hike. It turned into a six-mile hike. I ran out of water halfway there and asked every hiker we passed if they had seen any bears. Dani was about to faint from the heat and my hiking boots were killing my ankles. But, we persevered and conquered the trail! |
