Peles Castle Interior

The following pictures of the interior of Peles Castle were taken by other people.

The smoking lounge was designed around Turkish influences.
-Guest bedroom-

The king collected armor and weapons. This set of armor is over 400 years old!

-Stained glass skylight in the grand hall-

-Formal dining room-

-One of many music rooms in the castle-

-Upstairs library for guests-

The downstairs library is two stories, and includes a secret passageway leading to the king's chambers. The bookshelf on the far right of the picture is the passageway. A button hidden beneath the bottom shelf causes the bookcase to reveal a hidden staircase.

This spiral staircase was hand-carved! The bust of the man holding the staircase on his shoulders is the image of the woodcarver!

-Formal music hall-

The original 'in-home' theater, complete with a private box for royalty.

The king's chambers---He died in this room.

Many of the rooms contain massive blown glass chandeliers adorned with brightly colored glass flowers.

This set of teak wood furniture from India took three generations of carvers 100 years to complete! Talk about craftsmanship! The intricate details were stunning!
